Marouflage Painting |
|||||||
Marouflage, a 3,000-year-old technique, is used to adhere a painted canvas to a wall. Marouflage is an economical method for modern homeowners to own custom painted murals. Because the technique allows artists to paint in their studios and then install the canvas, marouflage is more practical for busy home owners who want to avoid the disruption of an artist on site. Marouflage also allows a painting to be moved from one location to another, making it a sensible choice for artwork in our mobile society. By using a thin coat of adhesive on both the wall and the canvas, marouflage artists install the artwork much as they would wallpaper. The edges of a marouflage canvas can be framed with molding or have a plaster finish applied to match surrounding walls. |
