Venetian Plastering

Venetian Plaster is an ancient building material made with lime and marble. Venetian Plaster can be burnished to a high polish and feels smooth and cold to the touch. Because Venetian Plaster contains marble dust, it can also have a granular texture. The term Venetian plaster sometimes refers to the method of applying plaster and burnishing it to a high shine. Originally used strictly for the protection of structures, Venetian plaster is now prized as a decorative element. Many synthetic Venetian plasters exist today and are much easier to apply than the old fashioned lime based plasters.
